The guys at Pixelmator posted an explanation to users of Macs with NVIDIA GeForce graphics card drivers. Apparently there is a problem with the drivers that causing the application to crash.

Pixelmator is a great app run buy equally great people.

Pixelmator 2.1.1 and a new healing tool

Now you can easily remove image imperfections or just about any image element you want, so your pictures look their absolute best.

That’s what I love about the Pixelmator guys. They keep making amazing software with features that everyone can use, not just the pros. Check out the video on their site to see the healing tool in action.

Not only is Pixelmator 2.1.1 out today, but they are also sponsoring The Loop this week.

Pixelmator 2.1 available on Mac App Store

Another great release from the Pixelmator Team.

Pixelmator 2.1 is a major update introducing several new features and improvements, including the following:* Retina-Ready: Both Pixelmator’s friendly user interface and its powerful image editing engine are now optimized for the Retina display. * iCloud: Built right into the app and keeps your Pixelmator work up to date across all your Macs. * Effects Browser: The best and the most fun way to browse: instantly preview and quickly apply special effects or add color adjustments to images. * New Effects: Use the new Vintage, Miniaturize, Black and White, Rain, and Snow effects. * Alignment Guides: Quickly position, align, and evenly distribute objects in your Pixelmator compositions with pinpoint accuracy. * OS X Mountain Lion Support: Pixelmator takes full advantage of all the latest and greatest technologies.

Pixelmator 2.1 to add Retina support

Pixelmator 2.1 Cherry is already fully Retina-ready, including all of the user interface elements as well as the image editing engine itself. And, what can I say—Pixelmator on the new MacBook Pro with Retina display (we’ve got a few of those around the office) looks totally incredible.

Love Pixelmator. Check out the video too.

Pixelmator update enables sandboxing for OS X Lion

This update enables sandboxing for OS X Lion and improves overall stability.

This is the very first app I’ve heard of that implements sandboxing.

According to Apple, “sandboxing protects the system by limiting the kinds of things an application can do, such as accessing files on disk or resources over the network. Limiting the capabilities of an app to just those operations that it needs to perform helps keep the rest of the system more secure in the event that an app is compromised.”

Not a big surprise to see the Pixelmator team ahead of the curve on implementing new features.
