Two of the biggest online news outlets are getting ready to shutdown. BuzzFeed News has already stated that they are shutting down and Vice is said to be headed for bankruptcy. Dave and I talk about the state of news and how we got here. The NYPD is handing out 500 AirTags in the city in an effort to stop the uptick in car thefts recently. Apple’s new savings account has drawn in almost $1 billion in depositis in four days.

The Steve Jobs Archive published a book called, “Make Something Wonderful, Steve Jobs in his own words.” Dave and I talk about some of the detail in the book, including some information from Disney CEO, Bob Iger. For years, Katie Cotton was Steve’s right hand person at Apple. Sadly this week, Katie passed away. I worked with Katie for years, and later she became a great friend. I will miss her.

Apple has reportedly halted production of its M2 chips as Mac, and the general PC industry, slowed considerably in the first quarter of 2023. GQ did an indepth interview with Tim Cook covering everything from his morning routine and reading emails from customers to his thoughts on Google Glass and that industry. The iPhone 17 may debut under-display Face ID which would change the entire design of future iPhones.

The Dalrymple Report: Super Bowl ads, Ted Lasso, and Netflix

The best part of the Super Bowl for some people is the ads, not the game itself. This year was no different, so Dave and I talk about some of our favorite ads from the event. We also talk about our favorite half time shows of all time. Speaking of sports, Ted Lasso is coming back in March! Apple released a trailer for the upcoming season that you can watch now. Dave and I both started using Apple Music this week and had some things we liked and didn’t like about the new feature. We also looked at some of the new features in iOS 16.2, the latest version of Apple’s iPhone operating system. Because of new laws in the EU, Apple may have to start allowing apps to be downloaded outside of the App Store. Is this something you would do? The Dalrymple Report: Apple Music Sing, encryption, App Store pricing

It’s been a busy week for Apple as the company made three announcements for its customers and developers. The first is Apple Music Sing, which gives users the ability to lower the vocals on a song in Apple Music so you can sing along with it. The company also made some encryption announcements for users of its software and iCloud services to further protect privacy, and its rolling out 700 new price points for developers to list their apps on the App Store.

The Dalrymple Report: Apple Music Replay, Siri and Apple Watch bands

This week Dave and I talk about the new Apple Music Replay experience the company put together. Apple has always given users a list of their favorite songs, but this year they went a lot further showing you the bands, playlists, and stations you listened to. Dave picked up some Apple Watch bands that he says are just as good as Apple’s own bands, but a whole lot cheaper. Did you know Siri can give you word definitions and spelling if you ask her? I didn’t.
