I will still maintain that Apple had a great opportunity here it wasted by neglect, not unlike many other technologies Apple championed but ultimately ignored over the years.

The Dalrymple Report: AirPort and Siri with Dave Mark
Dave and I spent the first few minutes recounting our playoff hockey triumphs before moving on to talk about Apple’s decision to discontinue its AirPort product line, and an interesting Siri hiccup.

ErrorPort
I’d love to hear from Apple why this move, a move that was “obvious” to many of us for many years, was never attempted by the company.
Amazon Prime price change
This is the first price increase in four years but, like all price increases, it undoubtedly won’t sit well with some Prime members.
The Dalrymple Report: Apple Music and hockey with Dave Mark
Dave and I kicked off our podcast this week with some hockey talk, as both of our teams advanced in the playoffs. However, we quickly moved to talk of bug bounties, Apple Music, and Spotify’s new free tier.

How to download a copy of everything Apple knows about you
It’s not as easy to do as with other companies but that may be a good thing. And you might be surprised by how little and, ironically, how much Apple knows about you.
Here’s why you’re getting all those terms of service update emails
These companies aren’t doing this voluntarily, either. They’re being forced to by these new European Union regulations.

29 summer movies to get excited about
There’s lots of movies I’m looking forward to this summer – Avengers: Infinity War, Deadpool 2, Solo, The Incredibles 2, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, among others. I think having a “new” 12-year-old son helps ramp up my excitement level for some of them.

Even though I have an iPhone X, I have yet to bother with any kind of “wireless” charger. But if you’re in the market for one, this review may help.
“2001: A Space Odyssey” trailer
I’ve never seen the movie in theaters and only once or twice on a TV screen. Whether it was because of that or my young age at viewing, I never understood the movie.
Spotify beefs up its free tier
My wife prefers Spotify over Apple Music (Apple Music’s selection of her favourite tunes is woefully inadequate) so this news will make her happy.
Astronaut Chris Hadfield debunks space myths
Canada’s very own “Most Interesting Man in the World” debunks space myths.
This guy has lost 105 pounds and counting thanks to his Apple Watch

Flickr bought by SmugMug, vows to revitalize the photo service
This news will be met with mixed feelings from a lot of photographers but there is no doubt that Yahoo has let the service languish for many years.
All of the songs played on “WKRP in Cincinnati” in one Spotify playlist
WKRP is one of those TV shows I loved but will never watch again. I’m afraid it won’t be as good as I remember it. It has happened to me before – I rewatched some old “Get Smart” shows I loved as a kid and thought, as an adult, it was awful. But I’ll listen to this playlist all day long.
The woman who gave the Macintosh a smile
All Mac users owe Kare a debt of gratitude for her work.
Your personality, according to IBM Watson
Based on my Twitter feed, Watson tells me I am “a bit critical and excitable.”

I’m always fascinated by assembly lines and this “disassembly line” is just as interesting.
Jeff Bezos reveals Amazon has 100 million Prime members in letter to shareholders
Interesting that after all these years, Amazon has finally released these numbers. I wonder if they’ll ever announce Kindle and Echo sales figures?

How to make tomato paste in Sicily
Tomato paste is one of those things I use all the time but have never given its production any thought. I had no idea it was made like this.
The secret language of ships
I’ve lived in port cities most of my life and, while I’ve seen many of these markings on container ships, I never really paid much attention or knew what they represented. Turns out, they are pretty interesting.
More (soon to be last?) drone video of the Apple Park Campus
As always, gorgeous video but there’s an interesting note included with this one.
iPhone X alone generated 35% of the total handset industry profits in Q4 2017
Nothing but good news for Apple and bad news for almost every other manufacturer.
Mapping Apple’s vast universe of space gray shades
At first blush, this seemed really silly. But on further examination, it’s fascinating how many variations Apple has had for “Space Gray”. You’d think a company renowned for its attention to detail would be more consistent in its colour schemes.
