This is just insanely good editing.

NFL fines Ben Roethlisberger $5,000 for wearing Apple Watch on Steelers’ sideline
Don’t shed any tears for Roethlisberger. He has career earnings of $187 million dollars and he’ll make $26 million this year. He can pay the fine out of the change he’d find in his couch cushions.
New Apple Arcade game releases: ‘Redout: Space Assault’, ‘The Bradwell Conspiracy’, and ‘Nightmare Farm’
I’m still addicted to Grindstone.
macOS Catalina and 64-bit
Apple on Monday released macOS Catalina, the newest operating systems for the company’s Macs. While there is a wealth of new features in the latest version, Catalina is also the first macOS to require 64-bit apps. […]
The Dalrymple Report: Playing radio stations on HomePod
Dave recalls some difficulty he’s had with his Apple Wallet and we talk about playing terrestrial radio stations on the HomePod.
Monty Python at 50: a half-century of silly walks, edible props and dead parrots
50 years later, it’s still the silliest TV show I’ve ever watched.
Beluga whale Hvaldimir returns lost GoPro
I saw this video yesterday and showed it to my son. He was understandably captivated (he wants to go to Norway to meet Hvaldimir now) and wanted to know more. I’d heard about the “Russian Spy whale” but didn’t connect it to this beluga
DuetCam – Record two cameras into one video file
During the last Apple Event, we saw this implementation in a video from Apple using Filmic Pro. The version of Filmic Pro shown is not yet available from that developer but, if all you need is this feature, DuetCam does the trick for a lot cheaper. The developer of DuestCam, Marcel Schmitz, told me via Twitter that a near-future update will have the ability to switch between the cameras while recording.
Apple’s latest update cripples location-based marketing
Read that headline again. Does anyone other than marketing weenies think that “crippling” is a bad thing?
One year after ‘The Big Hack’
This is a story that should have embarrassed Bloomberg into proving it or retracting it but the rest of the media have, for the most part, sadly moved on from it.
The best of Apple Arcade: five games that you need to try out
There are a lot of games for you to try in Apple Arcade. I wouldn’t agree with this list but then again, I’m not a “gamer”. I love Grindstone and the little talked about jigsaw puzzle “game” called “Patterned”.
“Halloween in a Box” tells the story of plastic costumes of yore
I fondly remember those plastic masks as a kid. We all looked forward to going to our local Zellers and picking one out. But, because they had to fit over our winter clothes in the cold of a late fall in Nova Scotia, they all had to be extra-large sizes. My favourite was my Incredible Hulk mask. AT 6 feet tall and 12 years old, it fit me perfectly.
Bose offers refunds on their noise-masking sleepbuds
This is the way you address an issue and make things right for your customers.
Introducing Skydio 2
I’m not a fan of posting about products or services you can’t go out and buy right now or videos that are simply advertisements for a product but this video is INSANE. If it works as advertised, it opens up some incredible possibilities for new filming ideas and at that price point and with those capabilities, DJI should be very scared.
Halide 1.14: time to get switchy
I love these blog posts from the developers of the excellent iOS camera app Halide. Really good explanations of what they are doing and what they can’t do. Their new “Lens Guides” feature is brilliant.
Apple financial results – Q4 2019
As per usual, Apple will announce ridiculous numbers of devices sold and metric buttloads of revenue generated.
The balloon boy hoax solved
I remember this weird story from ten years ago. The facts and subsequent years are even weirder.
The War of the Worlds trailer
I loved the 1950 version of the novel and hated the Tom Cruise version. This one, set shortly after the book’s publication in 1897, looks really good.
How the heart became the centre of the Apple Watch
The Apple Watch may have started out as a fashion item but it has quickly become a device to help us check, monitor, and maintain our health.
The Dalrymple Report: Night Mode and Apple Watch
Dave and I talk this week about the iPhone 11 and Night Mode when taking pictures. We also look at the new Apple Watch and what’s important to me about using the device.

Apple Watch Series 5 review: As always, on point
If you have a Series 4, you’re probably not upgrading to the 5 unless you really want that always-on display and/or the compass. But, if you have a 3 or earlier, the Series 5 is a big step up and worth the price.
I Used Apple Card overseas and had a lot of problems
The headline and body are misleading. There was likely no issue with the Apple Card itself but the way it was being used by retail staff. Regardless, something to keep in mind when traveling – have a backup card just in case.
Spotify is finally getting Siri support with iOS 13
Welcome news for those of us who use Spotify.
Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien’ returns to theaters in October
Those of you lucky enough to live somewhere this is playing owe it to yourself to go see this in a theater.
The best iPhone and iPad hidden features we’ve unearthed
My favourite new features are the new volume indicator and being able to delete apps from the Update screen.
New Checkm8 jailbreak released for all iOS devices running A5 to A11 chips
This is moderately bad. It is said to be unpatchable but the attacker needs physical access to your phone and it doesn’t survive a reboot.
Apple TV+ official trailer for “Snoopy In Space”
Looking forward to this. Who doesn’t love Snoopy?
tvOS 13: the MacStories review
I don’t use my AppleTV to nearly its full potential but, if you do, there’s a lot to like in the latest tvOS.
Apple plans to bring feature-length films to theaters
I’m always wary of stories that only refer to “people familiar with the plans” and the like and I’m doubly wary of any stories written by Tripp Mickle but this makes complete sense. The wider reach and greater visibility, especially for “awards contenders”, could help draw talent to Apple and better differentiate itself from Netflix.
Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams” and The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” mashup
This is insanely cool.
