The lawsuit by Jonathan Strobel may be the first in the United States by a Samsung phone user against the South Korean company over a battery defect linked to the Note 7.

You knew it was coming and here it is. The lawsuit said the man had severe burns on his legs caused by the Note 7.

U.S. formally recalls Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Federal consumer safety regulators on Thursday formally recalled 1 million Galaxy Samsung Note 7 smartphones after dozens of users reported the device caught fire while charging.

These things are clearly a hazard. How do you trust their next product?

A black gloss iPhone but no black Airpods? Why?

Hajek screams in his piece, “SO WHY DID THIS NOT HAPPEN?” There are any number of reasons, most likely for simplicity’s sake in their first iteration. If they prove to be popular (and, even though I won’t be buying them, I think they will be), we’ll see colour matched AirPods in their next version. But, then again, there are no black EarPods so maybe we’ll never see them.

iPhone 7 Plus camera review from Rwanda

Review: iPhone 7 and AirPods

After meeting with Apple following its iPhone event last week, I’ve been using a jet black iPhone 7 and a black iPhone 7 Plus. I’ve also been using the new AirPods wireless headphones with a number of devices. What strikes me about the new devices is how Apple is so meticulous with the details of its products. These devices, in conjunction with the software they’re running, truly show Apple’s commitment to the user experience. […]

Innovation in tech evolves in new ways

Leaving aside the fact that, contrary to the first sentence, there are no “early reviews” of the iPhone 7 (it’s in the hands of reviewers now but any comment from reviewers is under embargo until next Wednesday), there’s this thought process among the tech media that demands companies, Apple in particularly, “wow” us with every new announcement. Not only is that an impossible standard to meet, it’s remarkably short sighted.
