Apple is only going to get serious about TV if they find a way to get past that paradigm.

Exactly. The paradigm is traditional TV as we know it. Turn on the TV and watch whatever is there. Apple feels that model is broken and until that changes, the company won’t enter the market in a big way. However, if Apple has figured out a way around that model, look out.

∞ Apple has $81.5 billion in cash

Apple today filed its Form 10-K with the SEC that discloses information to stockholders and the commission. In an amongst the normal legal statements there were a few interesting facts. Among those were that Apple currently has $81,570,000,000 in cash, marketable securities and cash equivalents.

The filing also noted Apple now has 60 thousand employees.

When checking out from Apple’s online store, a new “Pick up” option is available, from which users can select a store in San Francisco, Calif. It also states that the in-store pickup option is “coming soon to a U.S. Apple Store near you.”

Just another example of Apple’s commitment to serving its customers in the best way possible.

Son said, “I visited Apple for the announcement of the iPhone 4S [at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California]. When I was having a meeting with Tim Cook, he said, ‘Oh Masa, sorry I have to quit our meeting.’ I said, ‘Where are you going?’ He said, ‘My boss is calling me.’ That was the day of the announcement of the iPhone 4S. He said that Steve is calling me because he wants to talk about their next product. And the next day, he died.”
