Apple exec talks about the Environment

Apple’s commitment to the environment is second to none and on Thursday the company released its yearly update detailing the environmental impact its products. I spoke with Apple executive Scott Broderick about the report and what Apple is doing on the environmental front. […]

Bozo

John Gruber giving his thoughts on Apple’s newest VP Kevin Lynch. There is also an Exhibit B. Like Gruber, it concerns me that Lynch kept beating the Flash drum for so long, even when it was clear it was dead.

Bloomberg bullshit

A new Bloomberg report compares the profitability of two heretofore unannounced Apple products. That sobbing you hear is me, crying for the death of journalism.

Einhorn drops lawsuit against Apple

Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital on Friday withdrew the suit it brought against Apple over a proxy proposal that would have allowed shareholders to vote on eliminating preferred stock from the company charter.

I’m glad that’s over.

Moron

A few years ago, consumers needed to touch and feel devices, but these days they can often get the information they need to make a purchase decision by talking to friends and reading reviews.

“They don’t have to go in the store and feel it anymore,” Rubin said, during a roundtable with reporters at Mobile World Congress on Tuesday.

Levinson, who joined the board in 2000, was a colleague and close friend to Apple’s legendary founder and CEO. On Tuesday, he said that Jobs’s absence remains tough to ignore even as the company has continued introducing new products and making fresh announcements.

Apple’s consumer technology revenue

Apple’s revenue [19.9%] easily beat out rival Samsung, which came in second with 9.3 percent, up from 7 percent in 2011. The rest of the top five saw their share of revenue fall in 2012: HP dipped from 8.9 percent in 2011 to 8.2 percent last year, while Sony and Dell both slid to 4.4 percent and 3 percent, respectively.

That is an incredible number.

On beating Apple to the punch

Federico Viticci talks about the media obsession with other companies supposedly ‘beating Apple to the punch’ with products.
