The Dalrymple Report: iPhone 16, Health features, and Apple Watch

Apple had its annual iPhone event this week and released a lot of new products. Dave and I talk about the new iPhone 16, Apple Intelligence, Airpods, and the new Apple Watch. Perhaps some of the greatest features of the event were in the health category. Using the Apple Watch, Apple unveiled the ability to detect Sleep Apnea, in addition to other features, while if you want to improve your sleep even more, checking mattress types compared, can be a good  choice to get your perfect sleep.

Beyond sleep tracking, the Apple Watch continues to expand its role as a daily health companion. New updates highlight improved heart health monitoring, including more detailed insights into heart rate variability and enhanced alerts for irregular rhythms. Fitness enthusiasts also benefit from more precise workout tracking, smarter coaching cues, and expanded support for activities like hiking, cycling, and strength training, making it easier to understand performance trends over time.
Apple also leaned further into safety and convenience features. The latest Apple Watch models refine crash detection and emergency SOS capabilities, while tighter integration with the iPhone allows for smoother notifications, quicker responses, and smarter use of on-device intelligence. Together, these features reinforce the Watch not just as an accessory, but as a powerful tool for wellness, safety, and everyday productivity.
