Less than one year after launching YouTube TV, the company is increasing its pricing to $40 per month from $35 per month as it adds Turner’s channels, which include TNT, CNN and TBS, and soon will be adding MLB Network and NBA TV, the company said.
I don’t care much about the $5 a month increase, but if I’m going to try this, I need to have Discovery and ID. They don’t have those yet.
You give up Food Porn Network, The House Hunters Channel, and The Shark Week Channel, but they carry tons of locals and have a very sports-heavy lineup, including a lot of regional sports networks. If that’s what you want YouTube TV is great.
If you add in Philo, it’s an extra $16/month and you get pretty much all the channels YT doesn’t have (there’s a five channel overlap between the services). And even at $56/month, that’s still a better price than a similar cable package with those channels.
Yawn… A la carte channels will never materialize. This is becoming more and more like regular cable.
Food Porn Network? You mean “Idiots Trying To Win A Cooking Race?”
I miss what they used to be.
Interesting, sports are the only reason I have cable.

Cord cutting is another term for passing the cost along. Eventually you will pay more for your cord cutting.
Even with the crap, the average cable bundle is more economical at this point. And until you your Internet service from an ISP who is not your cable company you will face spiraling rates from the overlords.
