Macworld | iWorld attendance holds steady at 25,000 attendees

IDG World Expo announced Tuesday that approximately 25,000 people made their way to this year’s Macworld | iWorld event, which took place last week in San Francisco, Calif.

That’s about the same attendance reported in 2011, when the event was called simply Macworld. This year’s focus was different, however: IDG World Expo billed Macworld | iWorld as “the world’s ultimate fan event for those who use, create, and love Apple products.”

In addition to a three-day expo with a show floor populated by exhibitors, the event featured after-hours parties, musical performances and DJ battles, films, visual art programs, tech talks, workshops and more.

IDG said that 40 percent of this year’s attendees were first-timers.
