∞ Apple delivers location bug patch in iOS update

iPhones don’t store as much location data as they used to once upgrading to iOS 4.3.3, released by Apple on Wednesday. It’s available for download and installation using iTunes.

The new release reduces the size of the cache, no longer backs the cache up to iTunes, so it stays on the phone only, and deletes the cache entirely if you choose to turn off the iPhone’s Location Services feature.

The new release works with iPhone 4 (separate builds are available for GSM and CDMA-equipped iPhones), iPhone 3GS, Pad 2, iPad, and third and fourth-generation iPod touch models.
