∞ SPL, Brainworx become Universal Audio developers

Universal Audio on Wednesday said that two audio developers have signed on to be developers on the UAD Powered Plug-ins platform.

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]SPL (Sound Performance Lab) and Brainworx are long time audio developers and are working with UA to finalize an SDK (Software Development Kit). Once that’s finished, the two companies can create their audio plug-ins and seel them through the UA online store.

Personally I’ve used Universal Audio’s version of the SPL Transient Designer and it’s a top quality plug-in. It only has a couple of controls, but it’s deceptively powerful.

I’ve never used Brainworx plug-ins but have heard good things about their software. I’m looking forward to giving them a try, especially the bx_shredspread, a a stereo processor for guitar tracks that allow you to make sure they are thick and wide. Isn’t that what we all want — can’t wait for that.

No date was announced for release of the plug-ins.
