∞ Verizon, Apple suspend iPhone 4 pre-orders, for now

Looks like the first round of iPhone 4s from Verizon have all been spoken for

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Apple and Verizon began accepting pre-orders for the Verizon version of the iPhone 4 early Thursday morning, but by Thursday evening, both companies had stopped.

The first round of iPhone 4s were allocated specifically for Verizon customers wanting to upgrade to the iPhone 4. The general public gets its chance when the iPhone 4 goes on sale starting February 10, 2011.

Verizon announced it was finally getting a version of the iPhone 4 during a special event in January. The Verizon version of the iPhone 4 is almost identical to its AT&T counterpart, except for its support of CDMA, the wireless communications technology used by Verizon.

Verizon is the United States’ second largest cell phone carrier, with over 94 million subscribers (AT&T sports over 95 million).
