∞ New plagiarism charges hit App Store games

The developer of iOS role playing game League of Epic Heroes has pulled his game as a result of complaints by the developer of Desktop Dungeons, a PC game that’s coming to iOS. While initially defiant against claims of plagiarism, League creator Eric Fararro has apparently had a change of heart. Following the removal of the game from the App Store, Fararro noted that Desktop Dungeons developer QCF had involved a copyright lawyer and wrote them an e-mail that read in part,

“I apologize for all the issues this has caused, and wish you best of luck on your IGF nomination. Looking forward to the full version of Desktop Dungeons on iPhone.”

Capcom’s “MaXsplosion” game was involved in a similar controversy with with Twisted Pixel’s “‘Splosionman” game.
