[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Grand Theft Auto III was first released for video game consoles, and spawned a stream of successful sequels. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City are the other two games that make up the trilogy. Each of the games is a 3D action game in which you assume the role of an up-and-coming underworld figure rising through the ranks of the criminal underbelly in a mythical American city.

Grand Theft Auto games are described as “sandbox”-style – that is, they are not played in linear formats with a strictly defined mission structure. Rather, you’re free to roam around the virtual world of each game in a completely open environment, doing what you want. Engaging in specific actions and taking specific missions will further the game’s storyline.

TransGaming notes that its Cider portability engine was used to make the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Mac compatible. All of the games are rated M for Mature (ages 17 and up).

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.5.8 or Mac OS X 10.6.2 or later, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB RAM, 9GB hard drive space, ATI X1600, Nvidia 7300GT or Intel X3100 or better 3D graphics.
