Audio plug-in developer Universal Audio (UA) announced that it is now an Avid Pro Tools RTAS developer.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]This means that UA’s UAD-2 platform will natively support Avid’s plug-in platform. Native RTAS plug-ins are not currently available from the company, but are expected in a future release.
Of course, many UA users, including myself, have loaded the company’s plug-ins into Pro Tools for years, but this was done with an RTAS wrapper. UA plug-ins are VST and the company uses a wrapper to allow other audio applications to use them.
Universal Audio makes some of the most sought-after audio plug-ins on the market today, partnering with the most of the major analog developers like Neve, Manley, Roland, Empirical Labs, Fairchild, Pultec, Teletronix, dbx, Studer, Lexicon and others.
