Gibson guitar won an award for its iPhone app in the inaugural Billboard Music App Awards.

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Gibson’s iPhone app won for the “Best Branded Music App,” beating out a number of other nominees in the category. The app launched in April and has almost 2 million downloads since, according to Gibson.

Billboard held it’s award ceremony last night and gave awards in several categories, including Best Music Engagement App; Best Music Creation App; Best Music Streaming App; Best Touring App; Best Artist-based App; and Best Branded Music App.
