There are some great apps available for Apple’s iPod touch, iPhone and iPad that will help you get the most out of this season’s NFL games. From ordering pizza to playing games, theres a little something for everyone.

Madden NFL 11: EA is the gold standard in sports games and the NFL is no exception. This game is available for both the iPhone and iPad, and includes some advanced features like GameFlow that allows you to skip the playbook and get on with the game. The iPhone version costs $4.99 and the iPad version costs $9.99.

NCAA Football: Not everyone likes the NFL, but that doesn’t mean they don’t like football. For some people, it’s all about college ball and EA has that covered too. NFL 2011: Gameloft is a great game company that turned its attention to the NFL with NFL 2011. You can choose from more than 200 plays or create your own with the playbook editor, if you think you’re good enough. ESPN Fantasy Football 2010: Fantasy leagues are very popular these days and ESPN has a real-time app to help manage your picks. You can bench players, add or drop players, and accept or reject trades with other managers. You can even post messages to your league’s message boards. (iPhone: $4.99)

Yahoo! Fantasy Football ’10: You can manager your roster and check your stats as the game happens in real-time with Yahoo’s app. The graphics have been optimized for the iPhone and features in-app roster alerts. (iPhone and iPod touch: Free)

Fantasy Trader: This gives you a totally different way to play the game. When you join, you are given $25,000 in fantasy cash to invest in your players. Sunday Night Football All Access: NBC put together a great looking app for iPad users. It let’s you follow the breaking news, get preview information, monitor scores, and check in on your fantasy players with real-time stats. (iPad: Free)

FOX Sports Mobile: While this app gives you all the news, standings and live scores from the NFL, it also includes the same info from all other major sports too. You can track Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Golf, Tennis, Soccer and more.

ESPN Score Center: Sports Center for iPhone and Sports Center XL for iPad gives you video highlights, live play-by-play, as well as full previews and recaps. The apps allow you to track more than just football, so you can use this one all year. (iPhone and iPod touch: Free; iPad: $4.99)

NFL Pro Tweets: This is a Twitters dream app if your a football fan. This app is a fully functional Twitter client that allows you to follow your friends and your favorite players, as well as having access to the NFLPlayers.com news feed. Sports Bar Finder: This is almost a must-have app on your iPhone. The app uses GPS to show you bars and restaurants in your area that carry Directv sports programming. There are over 80,000 locations, so you can use filters to trim down the choices. (iPhone: free)

Weber’s On the Grill for iPad: It makes my mouth water every time I mention Weber. Built specifically for the iPad, Weber’s app includes 250 recipes and 40 recipes for rubs, marinades and sauces. It even comes with instructional videos so you can get the most out of your grill. (iPad: $4.99)

Pizza Hut: Maybe you don’t have time to grill or it could be too cold for you to fire it up. Whatever the reason, if you’d rather have a pizza, you can use Pizza Hut’s app to make your order. The app is really well done, but it’s for U.S. residents only. (iPhone and iPod touch: Free)

Call A Pizza: If you’d rather try a local pizzeria, you can with this app. Simple to use, you just choose one of the pizza places nearby and give them a call. Hopefully you’ll have your pizza nice and fast.
