Apple on Friday released a Gold Master (GM) build of Mac OS X “Lion” to developers. It’s no great surprise, since Apple already announced July as the release month for Lion, but it’s a good sign that Lion’s release may come earlier in the month rather than later.

Apple closed the door this morning on any speculation that it would announce new hardware at its Worldwide Developers conference saying it would focus on iOS and Mac OS.

Apple on Monday announced the dates for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference. This year’s event will be held June 6-10 in San Francisco, Calif. AS in past years, Apple will hold the event at Moscone West.
