Hmmm, This Logo Sure Looks Familiar
Google is in the midst of rolling out its newest mobile operating system, Android N, and with it comes a new logo. And it looks maybe a little ... familiar? The N that folds over itself like a piece of ribbon? Graphic design trends---like all trends, really---come and go. And right now designers can't get enough of these 3-D visual identities. Look around and you’ll begin to notice colorful, angular graphics that wrap around and fold over themselves like materials from a craft store. We get it. The aesthetic is cool in the I work in Silicon Valley and maybe ride a Scooter to work sort of way. It even makes sense, practically speaking---dimensionality allows a logo to say more with less room. Guess it's true what they say: Behind every creative genius is another creative genius who had the same idea a few months earlier.
