Episode 339: Eclipse, iPads, and Teens

The solar eclipse happened this week so Dave and I took a few minutes to talk about our experiences. The rumored iPad release date is getting closer—they may be released a couple of weeks before WWDC in June. The teen population has spoken—in a new survey, teens say they love their iPhones, but don't like Apple Music or Apple TV+.

The New York Times gave one of its reporters the task of switching from iPhone to Android—it went okay, but it certainl wasn't smooth in all areas. Apple TV+ added a lot of movies from different studios to its service this week. They are all available for free if you subscribe to Apple TV+.

Episode 336: March Madness, Siri, and iPads

March Madness has begun! It's a big time for many sports fans, so Dave and I talk for a few minutes about it. We also talk about my continued frustration with Siri and why I'm so upset with Apple. If the rumors are true, Apple is expected to introduce new iPads soon. There could be a new iPad Air and Pro models, but not a new iPad mini.

A sound program :)

The show is always enjoyable. Jim is a kick, and has really interesting guests. If I had anything that I wish could be different, I think the audio level could be evened out a bit. (Jim can get to sounding really soft and distant, maybe 10dB or more down from the guest.) Other than that, keep up the good work!

Good God! Get rid of Dave Mark

Another update on this beclowned podcast. When will Jim jetison this Dave Mark. Today he went on and on about the Baltimore bridge collapse with an emotional overprint. What does this have to do with Apple? I don’t care what this joker thinks about the bridge just because you drove over it a few times. I keep coming back to this podcast hoping has either removed the Dave Mark infestation or at least reined him in. I just get angry. I want to hear from Jim, but he just lets the other guy just drone on. Please fix this. What does Jim see in this flaming emotional leftist?
Several years ago I reviewed this podcast and commented on the loquacious Dave Mark. He speaks about 95% of the time, leaving poor Jim in the dust. Why does he just keep talking? He is not very interesting. His topic selection needs work. Why doesn’t Jim rein him in? Dave Mark just goes on and on, especially when talking about what TV shows he is watching. He must spend his whole day watching TV. He must do no actual work. Who has time for such indulgence? Good God! Who cares what he is watching. What does that have to do with Apple. The man should try not saying “Um” so frequently and please keep your political views out of the podcast. This is a tech podcast. Jim - get a new partner. Dave Mark is insufferable and I am always angry when the podcast finishes. Also, no hockey talk ever again. I only skip over it.

Jim endures his idiot friend’s uninformed opinions

Knowledgeable Apple superuser and pundit Jim Dalrymples weekly conversation with his friend - who couldn’t be less knowledgeable or experienced. Jim is 5/5. Dave is 0/5. Seriously, Dave just rambles on about things he has read about but has no experience with - or worse - has failed to dig into with any effort. So basically this clown just reads headlines about things and then spouts off random incorrect things. If you have any background knowledge about the topic you’ll be pulling your hair out at how stupid and uninformed he is. I have absolutely no idea why Dalrymple continues to waste time with him. I know I don’t anymore. Sorry Jim. Get smarter friends.
