I don’t think there is a USB-connected Apple II drive.
Nor would iOS have drivers for A2 DOS/PRODOS.
So that’d require custom hardware that nobody’s likely to make …
(Not even the 3.5″ ones, either, since 800k Apple drives are NOT compatible with PC drives, because Apple ones do variable speed; different hardware.)
Correct. It would have to be a PC 5.25 disk formatted in FAT12. I looked far and wide for any kind of hobbyist adapter to turn one of these drives into USB Mass Storage device. While there are a couple of things that add USB to a 5.25 drive, they are mostly for making disk images, and require software on the host computer to work. They are not USB Mass Storage devices. If I ever find something like that, I will definitely try it out!
