iPhone X US delivery time now down to one week (it varies, actually)

Mikey Campbell, AppleInsider:

After a rocky start marked by a quick initial sellout and lingering supply issues, Apple is quickly catching up with iPhone X demand, with current U.S. delivery estimates pegging ship times at six business days.

I just checked and delivery now shows as December 11 (ten days from now). That’s still pretty good, and in plenty of time for gift-giving, if that’s your goal.

Even better, most models are showing available for pickup today. If you live near an Apple Store and an iPhone X is in your near future, check pickup availability for the model you crave. 64GB models are available today at most stores I checked, 256GB available at some, but far fewer.

  • Remember when critics and Apple-friendlies alike were seriously suggesting that most iPhone X shipments would be delayed into early-to-mid 2018?

Apple landing on its feet is always a pretty safe bet.

They do tend to under-promise, then deliver anyway.

      • Critics or Apple, or both? 🙂

The critics I’m thinking of rarely deliver at all.

While I think most of the reports of the X shortages were BS fed by whisper campaigns from competitors, Apple has struggled during the holiday season many times.

The 5S, the 6+, the 7+, the SE are just a few recent examples where they had long lead times and lack of in-store availability until after Christmas.

At the rate the fulfillment is going, it seems like by mid-December all models will be in stock in stores!

I’m really curious how many units they move for the holiday period. When they were predicting a gangbuster quarter during the last earnings announcement, they knew what they were talking about. This is by far the fastest we’ve seen supply catch up with demand in years. Certainly the iPhone 6+ and 7+ were substantially worse, with supply only catching up in January, after the holiday peak.

Also, I’m patiently waiting for the unlocked unit to be available. 🙂 Here’s to hoping it’s in January.
