iFixit iPhone X teardown

Lots of interesting images, including some nice shots of the iPhone X next to the original iPhone.

Highlights include the pic showing the main innards (with two separate battery cells), and a cool little video showing the Face ID projector in action.

iFixit’s job is to sell you parts and tools. Did you get compensated for running their ad?

Did you ignore the possibility that some tech-enthusiast Loop readers might be curious to see what the phone’s insides look like?

It’s impossible when I see these not to be impressed by the extraordinary design and engineering complexity at every single level: the individual components themselves (that processor!), the component packaging, the final assembly, and of course the incredible physical quality for a mass-produced device.

  • I’m going to take a look, but I feel a little squicky about it. Hopefully they got it back together and someone can use it without having future issues and being denied AppleCare service.
