I am wondering if anyone else has had problems getting it to work with their iCloud account. I keep getting validation problems. But it works great with my office email IMAP server. Easier to set up than Apple’s Mail and it looks very interesting.
The good news: they don’t store your e-mail on their own servers.
The bad news: they may change that in the future.
As reported by TheNextWeb (penultimate paragraph) http://thenextweb.com/apps/2015/05/29/spark-is-a-new-ios-email-app-for-power-users-with-some-clever-ideas/
They spent 18 months working on a free app that handles your email.
Looks cool, but I’ll wait until I find out how they make money. No team works 18 months without an expectation of a return on that investment.
I’m having the same problem. I’ve send an email to support to see what’s what. I tried with iCloud.com and me.com and mac.com (which I normally use).
I have to say, it works terrifically with my Watch!
This makes me very nervous as well. This app sounds great but they invested a ton of resources to make an app this good and I get nervous about one of two things happening after I fall in love with the app:
a) it disappears because they forgot to charge money for it and can’t afford to keep it going
b) they realize they aren’t charging money for it and they remedy that by charging a monthly fee (which I hate).
It works well with one account but I find Mailbox (now owned by Dropbox) is better for multiple accounts. In the Spark each account is buried lower in the navigation and the default when you open it always puts all your messages together. It just slows me down with multiple accounts.
