Spikes for the ‘S’ models must surely be due to their ability to put out more production – it being less challenging than all new designs…
I have also noticed less cosmetic defects with my Apple products year to year. I had all kinds of problems with dust under the screen on my iPad 2, dead pixels on my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, scuffs and scratches on my iPhone 5, etc. My iPad Air and iPhone 6 came out of the box 100% flawless. I think their manufacturing processes are improving in general.

The 5S sales is incorrect. That’s actually the 5S and the 5C.
Looking at the sales between the iPhone 4 and 4S and comparing that to the sales between the iPhone 4S and 5, sales did slow down in comparison.
The iPhone 5C/5S and 6/6Plus are the first pair of devices for comparison. We won’t know if that will slow down or not until next year depending on what Apple does.
What angle are you looking at it that makes your say Apple is proving analyst wrong that sales are slowing?

I should probably already know the answer to this, but does Apple break out iPhone sales numbers between their retail stores and online?
Apple Pay, Home Kit and Health Kit all contribute to new sales. In the case of Apple Pay, exclusive to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
So can we now officially end the “Apple is doomed” meme?
