Automotive UX with Mercedes Posted on Thursday, May 1st, 2014 at 6:42 am. PT Written by Jim Dalrymple I always found many car manufacturers badly lacking in this area. Sigivald My parents recently got a new Camry Hybrid. Toyota’s nav/audio/etc. system is laughably poorly designed in the UX area. Seriously, pathetic. Wasted empty space while names of songs/channels are truncated, abysmally low resolution (in a $35k car!)… Makes me committed to not having such a system in any new car I buy, until that problem is fixed; I’d rather have a Garmin standalone GPS and a stereo that just did Bluetooth, rather than a mess like that. As far as I know none of the competition is really much better yet. Hopefully Apple’s inroads in the field might spur some improvement and concern for UX.
