Establishment vs Nate Silver

Some good thoughts from Om Malik.

Uh, Jim, the lefties in the US were ready to canonize Nate Silver in 2012. He was the darling of MSNBC and other left-leaning old media. But now, he’s suddenly a heretic because he is predicting Democrat doom in 2014!

And when did Paul F-ing Krugman become an expert in predicting elections? Or economics for that matter?

    • Moeskido

Silver put a lot of conservative internal polls to shame in 2012, and rightly so. He did the statistical work and left personal biases out of it.

Now the DSCC is doing what political parties do: condemning his predictions publicly in order to make headlines, and fundraising on the likely accuracy of those predictions to rally the troops.

If you set higher standards for a political party, I’m interested in hearing about it.

I was actually trying to set higher standards for a very reputable and accurate tech blog.

          Keep trying.

Yep, hard to do with intellectually dishonest, hypocrite libs who eat their own.

          • Moeskido

If only they had contemporary role models for better behavior.

Here’s the reality on who turned against silver: The professional left.
