Whatever your feelings about Rush, this video is amazing. First, think of the odds on capturing such a seminal moment in a kid’s life? And then having that kid grow up to be a world class guitarist. Fantastic.

The rocking back and forth of Alex and that girl are slowly driving me insane.
If I recall, Alex was actually taking part in a kind of Canadian reality show at the time, so that’s why the cameras were present. Apparently it was (of course) on a farm…
That was actually a scene from a documentary called “Come On Children”, by the famed Allan King. It’s on DVD (and Hulu in U.S.): http://www.criterion.com/films/27516-come-on-children
Disclaimer: I question Mark Holoubek’s taste in music. 😉
Yeah, pieces of this are also shown in the documentary “Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage” from 2010. See what Mark said below about the “Come On Children” documentary. Also, disclaimer: Rush is by far my favorite band of all time. 😉
How many cameras are there? Seems like more than one. Not sure, I’ve only watched it once. In any case, amazing video.
