Visualizing 15 Years of acquisitions by Apple, Google, Yahoo, Amazon, and Facebook

No specific conclusions leap to mind, but I did find this infographic fun to pore over. Obviously, the biggest circle on there is Facebook’s acquisition of WhatsApp. The second biggest? Take a guess, then follow the link and take a look.

Also thought it was interesting that Microsoft was left off the chart completely.

Interesting, considering Microsoft paid $7.2 billion for Nokia’s handset business, $8.5 billion for Skype, $6.3 billion for aQuantive and a whole host more in the last 15 years.

The biggest acquisition for Apple ever is the buy-back. It dwarfs all of the others combined.

Microsoft is left off the chart completely because the chart is showing “hungry” tech giants, not “desperate” tech giants. Ask the original creator of the chart to make another one showing Microsoft, HP, Dell, and Asus.
