Microsoft is batshit crazy

Ben Thompson nailed this one.

I hate to say it, but so did Manjoo, at least in the excerpts.

    • James Hughes

Why do you hate to say it? I am not familiar with Manjoo. Is he a bad writer or a Microsoft apologist or something?

      • Moeskido

Manjoo is a linkbait blogger who ordinarily writes a lot of stupid things about consumer tech. That he’s now writing tech for the NYT is a sad indication of the paper’s lack of either expertise in the subject or of available funds to hire better writers for it.

Or they are really smart. Figured out they lost the personal device game so they aren’t trying.

Trouble is they haven’t committed to that either. They are still trying to push the Surface etc on consumers.

Microsoft is running on inertia at this point, nothing is pushing it forward, so it will grind to a halt eventually, and it looks like it’s sooner rather than later.

Another really big problem MSFT has is that they don’t speak English. WTF is this….

“As we step back and say, these core applications, these core brands that are so important to enterprise customers and consumers, how do we make sure that we’re thoughtful about what we’re doing on the Windows platform, as well as cognizant of the fact that there’s other devices in their lives (emphasis in original),”

Get down of Mt Redmond and live in the real world, maybe then you’ll understand it better (coz we sure as hell don’t understand you right now).
