Forbes interview with Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen

“Flappy Bird was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed,” says Dong Nguyen, in an exclusive interview, his first since he pulled the plug on the app. “But it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it’s best to take down Flappy Bird. It’s gone forever.”

Fascinating how much this story has grown beyond the traditional Apple press blogs.

So the guy that pulled his game because he didn’t want the spotlight is now doing mass media interviews?

I was thinking the same thing. If this really was some sort of moral thing why not refuse to talk to folks.

Makes me wonder, as I have seen others do, if the real issue was that the more folks play the game the more they demand improvements. And he didn’t want to have to do anymore work on it

Pulling the app doesn’t stop people from playing it. He should just gift the app to me. I’ll gladly handle the press & internet comments for $50,000 a day.
