Polydimethylsiloxane + sand = FUN

This has been around for a while, but is new to me. So deliciously awesome! Polydimethylsiloxane (or PDMS) is used in lots of products, from chicken nuggets and fries, to caulk, to shampoo. This use is my favorite.

  • I saw this at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Very cool to play with. I almost bought some to use as a desk toy at work.

    Why do they mention that it’s gluten free? IT’S NOT EVEN FOOD.

      People with gluten intolerance need to stay away from all forms of gluten, including airborne particles. It’s simply safer for those intolerances not to have their hands in gluten, it’s less likely to end up in their mouths in any amount.
