Student creates printer that swallows stack of paper

This is a lovely bit of design. Student Mugi Yamamoto created a compact printer which is placed on top of a stack of paper.

When printing, “Stack” slowly moves downwards and swallows the pile until no paper is left.

Really nice.

Has it been created or just designed? I’d love to see a demo, it looks like all the shots are just renders.

Yeah, I agree with Mork… Not to rain on the guy’s parade, but I’ve worked at a printer company and a paper counter company and the paper handling path on this concept looks suspect to me. Getting it to feed in reliably and the limit of how many pages it could print and put on top… And imagine the first time you bump into it balanced on top of a stack of loose sheets.
