66% prefer iOS 7 icons

A lot of them won by a huge margin too.

  • Deadmau50r

probably because most people that didn’t like the icons missed the poll. I missed it.

    • J. R.

      It’s actually not over yet.

  • lkalliance

I prefer most of the iOS 7 icons over the iOS 6. I think a lot of it has to do with it being nice to see a change every so often.

    • Box of Cotton Swabs

It’s entirely possible to have the iOS 7 icons change in appearance from 6 and not to look like crap.

      • lkalliance

They look just fine to me, by and large.

        • Box of Cotton Swabs

Would that every designer strive for the lofty goal of “just fine.”

          • lkalliance

I’m not a designer, so I don’t really have to strive for anything like that. I just get to react to the iconography and not worry about explaining it or perfecting it. I like the icons, within the contexts I’ve seen them.

Can we all just agree that the Safari icon is atrocious?

        This!

      • Box of Cotton Swabs
        • Windows 3.1’s Calculator icon
    • plaztik

      Nope!

    • tylernol

nope. It has grown on me. Now I find the original to be “quaint”.

Here what you all miss. Atrocious is your opinion, not the rest of the world. A saying back home…because f different tastes, nature made many colors. Take that to heart and you will see that getting worked up over nothing, is plain stupid.

Apple will not change for you. And the ones that say that they will change to android because of it, were never on iOS.

Anyone with common sense and style would never switch from a disciplined, well adjusted, well designed os like iOS, to the undisciplined google android. Windows phone 8 would be more appropriate. That is why your comments do not matter in the scheme. Just wasting bandwidth.

  • Moeskido

I imagine my wife might gripe a bit at the change when our iPad 2 gets upgraded to iOS 7. But then she uses it far more than I do.

  • GFYantiapplezealots

    I like them.

Edit: Nevermind. After taking the poll I like all of the iOS 6 icons better and none of those stupid ‘redesigns’ better. iOS 6 rocks!

  • downpour

The problem is the icons look good on a white background. (I imagine that is how they were designed and reviewed). But who has a white wallpaper on their phone? On a normal wallpaper they look dayglow and ugly.

    • alaska99801

Hey, genius….how about waiting till final release, Einstein! Didn’t you noticed the changes from beta 1 to beta 2 ? I bet you didn’t….lol

      • downpour

Calm down, It was only an observation. Aesthetics have always been a major part of the Apple brand, this deviation from their usual standard of almost universal appeal, is bound to spark a lot of debate.

  • alaska99801

My musings…I don’t go into android sites making comments because I couldn’t care less what android does or look like. I don’t use the thing. That’s honesty! But we see lots of bozos, with no life, commenting on Apple sites, all for the simple sake that they dislike Apple.

You people need to understand that we know you have no life and are simpletons that lived only for this. How sad it must be. Any gf in the basements? I hope so, even if an inflatable one.

It really doesn’t matter what you all think. You are not the Apple market. Apple will keep selling better than the rest, androids are use like feature phones by 99% of users. So, how does that feel Boris?

  • oliversl

For me huge means 90 or 95%, not the case here. And the iOS7 icons wont change until iOS8. Too bad.
