Apple schedules WWDC keynote for June 10th

No big surprise there.

They will concede defeat to Samsung and wrap it up.

All I want is Logic Pro X. Aperture 4 too, but LPX and I’ll be happy. I realize I don’t need LPX, but I want LPX. It’s fun to get new toys, I spend my time in LP9, and it’s been 4 years now. From what I’ve heard, LPX will get better plugin math to more closely represent the hardware they’re based on (like Amp Designer, but for compressors, EQ’s, delay, etc.), iPad as a control surface, and redmatica along with other features that we saw patents recently pass for. What I’d really love is better summing. Like the SSL 4k in Reason, I’d love to see options to mix on a Neve, SSL, Harrison, Neve, API, Neve, RND, etc…

Nothing takes the place of the real thing but a $200 soundalike is about as close as I’ll ever get. Unless I put my home up against one.

I’d be wary of getting your hopes up.

Generally speaking, WWDC just isn’t the forum for Pro software announcements. FCPX saw an update at WWDC last year, but that was just a “retina-ready” UI update tied to the release of the rMBP.

I’m not sure what the forum is now for releasing a product like Logic. FCPX was debuted at NAB 2 year ago; since then all updates have been exclusive to the appStore. Where have Logic released traditionally been announced? If I had to bet, I’d wager that any big releases for both these products from here on will be exclusively online- with accompanying documents and videos via the product pages.

WWDC is the ONLY time I could imagine the MacPro getting any stage time, however. So I really hope it’s ready to announce next month.

We’re going to get OSX: the next generation, and iOS: the next generation, probably the Mac Pro

WWDC is about the next gen of software. Every. Single. Developer. Needs to be on board.

Really hoping for a Retina MacBook Pro update then, or soon. Ready to pull the trigger.
