Mophie Juice Pack Plus for iPhone 5

I have never used a case on my iPhone, except for the Mophie Juice Pack Plus. Having the extra battery power made it worth while and the Mophie never let me down. Good seeing it available for the iPhone 5.

I have always been a big fan of the juice packs for iPhone 4 / 4S but I think the one for iPhone 5 is completely useless, from a developers perspective! You always need to detach the bottom of the case to connect the lightning cable to the phone to be able to build your apps onto the phone. The USB connector of the case is just for charging, not for data.

This is a ridiculous way to judge a battery case.

“When I have my iPhone connected to my computer and wouldn’t need a battery case anyway this case is useless.”

How about judging it based on how it is meant to be used, away from your computer! It would be nice if it had a lightning connector so I wouldn’t need to carry another cable but it does not make it useless.

Well, taking this case of is a pain in the ass and this case is definitely not meant to be taken off like 10 times a day!

I agree but why would you ever use it in a situation where you need to take it off 10 times per day?

I need the battery in the weekend. But it is a case that should protect your device as well. So I would basically need two cases. One for the week and one during the weekend. That’s not what I would call good hardware engineering…

I see your point. However, for me the case is too large to want to use it as an every day case when I don’t need the extra juice. That is why it doesn’t bother me.
