Fatten up a snare drum in your mix

Trick two: Stereo—Either a touch of chorus or a simple haas setup (on the entire snare, or just the high frequencies). Check this in mono to be sure your snare isn’t disappearing, flamming, etc.

Trick three: Distortion—Flavored compression to mush things up, though this depends on the snare sound and the types of distortion you have available.

This is an old post, but still, the best way to fatten snare is with a Drumtee®.
