Apple moves to stop App Store scammers

This small but important update shuts down a widely used scam tactic, where developers would upload game screenshots to get an app approved by Apple and then switch them out with screenshots from another popular app.

Great move by Apple.

Hmmm. As a legit app developer, this kinda sucks. Updating 15 screenshots in 12 languages takes a while, and it’s nice to be able to change them.

If Apple screws up and eventually, a long time later, after harming its developers and users, gets around to fixing the problem, it’s a “great move.” If Google does the same, see archives of this site.
