EU slaps Samsung with Antitrust suit

The European Commission confirmed on Thursday that it will be formally charging Samsung in its antitrust investigation related to the company abusing its market position by filing for Apple product sales injunctions over patent infringement claims. Samsung withdrew it injunction request earlier this week, but the EU is still moving forward with its case.

Merry Christmas Samsung.

What Samsung did was like if Apple sued Samsung for using the MPEG-4 file format, which is just a QuickTime file. Apple already agreed to license the QuickTime file format to everyone equally for the same very low price. That was a key requirement before it could be adopted as part of the ISO MPEG standard.

      O_o ?

  • Somehow I think they’ll be fine. Apple on the otherhand is on course to lost all of its most valuable touch-related patents, and that pleases me greatly.

So are you just anti-patent or a shallow Apple-hater?
