USS Enterprise taken out of active service

TIME:

The world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier was retired from active service on Saturday. The Enterprise was the largest ship in the world at the time it was built, earning the nickname “Big E.”

The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier was the eighth U.S. ship to bear the name Enterprise, but it won’t be the last.

My dad was in the Canadian Navy for many years and I still remember getting a tour of the ship as a ten year old.

They let Vulcans and Klingons on the Enterprise. Why not Canadians?

William Shatner and James Doohan were both Canadian actors.

I’m confused… You said your dad was in the Canadian Navy and that gave him access to tour an American nuclear aircraft carrier? That alone implies that the Canadian Navy is more than two guys in a dinghy with a shotgun and a six pack…

I must have been mistaken for all those years…

I, too, got a tour of this Enterprise when I was about 12. My uncle was in the American Navy and was serving on it at the time.
