Apple sells out of iPad mini at 5th Ave. store

Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White is also at the Fifth Avenue store and has been monitoring availability of the various models. According to White, all three models of the white Wi-Fi iPad mini sold out in a little over an hour, with the black models following suit after about two hours. No additional shipments are expected at the store today.

Not bad at all.

I wonder how it is doing in other stores, this is good news considering Sandy.

Shouldn’t you be saying “Numbers, or shut up!”’s easy to sell out if you only have 200 in stock. 😉

But Apple will provide numbers, likely on Monday. Keep waiting on those Amazon numbers.

Valid point. A sell out is meaningless without real numbers.

Surprised the white ones went first. The black iPhone5 is more popular. Perhaps there were more black iPads in stock?

There is a conspiracy theory going around that they made many fewer white ones cause they look too much like a Galaxy Note and Apple doesn’t want folks thinking that’s what someone is holding.

With is why fewer white in the online orders so they sell out in like an hour and fewer at the stores

I think this sums it up nicely:
