Unfortunately, Apple is delaying the release of iTunes 11. Apple spokesperson Tom Neumayr told The Loop why today.
“The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right. We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November.”
I’m disappointed in the delay, but I’m glad they’re willing to slip the date to make it ready. I don’t want a half-baked iTunes.

Well that stinks. I was really looking forward to this, but I’d rather them take the time to get it right.

It’d be interesting if this was the real cause of Forstall leaving: a fight over whether to ship an unready iTunes.
Already showing the fruits of the re-org? Apple may be one of the few(only?) companies where a re-org is actually productive.
CNET’s Josh Lowensohn is now claiming to have received the same statement. I wonder if they really did, or if they’re just copying without giving credit.

This is Apple, not RIM. When they say before end of November, it’ll be by Nov 15th. When RIM says by end of November, ask “which year?”.
It’s typical for Apple to issue the same short statement to more than one person or news source.
I stand corrected.
I guess I’m the only person in the world happy with the current iTunes. Version 11 could take another year for all I care. I like having iTunes as the central hub that updates my iPhone and iPad. I live in a rural area with tin-can-and-string Internet speeds so the more things go to the cloud, the worse for me.
And when they said it would be by the end of October…?
