I agree with most of this advice, especially limiting emails to 3-4 paragraphs. It reminds me of an article that I read about a company that banned internal email on Fridays. If you needed to talk to somebody, you had to pick up the phone or get up and talk face to face. It was an effort to cut back on the long emails and get some personal contact back in the workplace.
