Apple released iOS 6 this today. You can plug your iPhone into iTunes and click “Check for Update” or go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone.

    the bar at the top being colored differently in different apps is driving me batshit crazy. As well as the new app store and music player layout.

      Yeah the bar is weird as heck, confuses me, too. Don’t get why they changed it. Love the new stores, though, except the layout when you do Search (1 app at a time is very dumb for SEARCH, an inherently list-based function)

    Are they staggering the rollout? My iPhone 4 isn’t seeing the update yet.

      That is, as of 3:00pm EDT via the Settings app > General > Software Update (for over-the-air updates).

    If you have 257 hours to wait for the download, you can do an OTA update instead

      My OTA updates, both iPhone and iPad at the same time too 20 minutes.

    Maps is an absolute disaster! I’m sure it’s fine in some locations but where I live my pre-smartphone Nokia had far better data. Thankfully I can still use Google’s web app.
