        You (and I) can totally agree with the sentiment while not agreeing with the execution of the commentary.

        The title belittles Jim and his point.

        He could have suggested any number of humiliating or painful tortures or even used grown up language to make his point.

        Might I suggest: Twitter should be forced to… … attend evangelical christian services … watch baseball games without access to beer … pay dues to the NRA … listen to Americans abroad … listen to guitar-based rock music … listen to Americans talk about Canada (bet Jim loves that one)

        I am not calling Jim an explicit homophobe but that his statement is definitively and implicitly homophobic since its implication is that sucking dicks is the worst punishment that could be meted out to Twitter. Jim could have suggested they “eat shit” and we could all agree that it might only be offensive to fans of “German scheisse movies” (to steal from Cartman). It’s the same insidious shit that allows people to justify calling things “soooo gay” or calling someone a “cocksucker”, regardless of their or their target’s sexual orientation. You don’t have to be gay to see the obvious implicit homophobia.

            No. The implication is that whatever Twitter announces in the future, Twitter can get lost, pound sand, hit the road, fuck off, or go fuck themselves.

            Jim did not ask for anyone to force Twitter staff to suck a bag of dicks, nor did he indicate that they should be punished by being made to do so. This is your interpretation, almost certainly incorrect, and from this incorrect assumption you read slurs and implications that do not follow.

      The line WAS homophobic (accidentally or not) and Twitter ARE a bunch of douchenozzles.

      If Jim had said “Twitter should fuck a bag of vaginas” most of you would consider that both crass and a rubbish punishment (while many would search the internet for where they could purchase said bag of vaginas). Yet “dick sucking” is the worst thing that could happen to them?

    I agree with the sentiment, and Jim’s headline is way more polite than I would have been!

    Twitter have been treating their customers more and more like product, as time goes on. Recently they effectively said ‘no more new Twitter clients’, and now they have stopped supporting their own Mac client. How long before the iOS client is killed?

    They want us to use their website? Or they want us to stop using Twitter?
