Jeff Bezos as Steve Jobs

Om Malik:

Jeff Bezos announced a whole slew of Kindle devices and launched the new Kindle Fire tablets. And if you believe all the Twitter chatter, then he did it in a Steve Jobs style presentation.

I agree with Om that Jeff Bezos has done a great job — except at making profits — and from all I’ve heard, his presentation today was great. Having said that, he’s no Steve Jobs, as much as he may want to be.

that’s a unfounded claim to make … need to see how the next decade plays out, don’t you think?

I agree with Jim… he’s no Steve Jobs.

Also, is it me or is their new lineup much more confusing compared to Apple (as far as naming goes)? They have the Kindle Fire HD (8.9-inch) and the Kindle Fire HD (7-inch), along with the updated Kindle Fire. Couldn’t they have come up with 3 distinct and clear product names?

There will never be another Steve Jobs!

Amazon is the ultimate middleman corporation where it sells below cost to drive away competitors. without the special tax advantage and grey market products. In fact Amazon Prime customers pay more than those that shop around so it should tell you how great Jeffrey Jorgensen-Bezos is.

It is going to destroy more local business than Walmart.

All the Fires have ads on the lock screen and on the home screen. So much for Parental Controls.

I call it flattering to the man to say he did a great Jeff Bezos today.

I don’t go for comparing people to other living persons or those who have left their mark and left this world. He is a high quality salesman and has earned his own leadership kudos.
