Amazon’s new Kindle Fire TV commercial

Kudos to Amazon. Looks like they pulled off a great event and they kicked it off with a nice commercial too.

    Wow. That’s really well done.

    Here’s to the normal ones.

This commercial did have the same kind of vibe

Not to say Amazon doesn’t have a good product, but sponsored screensavers on my tablet, NO THANK YOU!

it’s a nice ad, but it feels a little too Apple like in tone and a little too ego filled for my taste. Online ordering is as awesome as a moon landing? Customer reviews is as awesome as the light bulb. Uh no. Not even close

It is “Apple-like” but give them credit, it’s effective because it communicates emotionally what Amazon is. I don’t recall seeing an ad that phrases what Amazon is so clearly. Amazon has as much a claim to “changing things” and customer service as Apple does, maybe more. I’m biased to Apple as a big shareholder but I also use Amazon regularly. It’s easy to cheer Apple for knocking MS down a few percentage points but as I watch local retailers going out of business due to Amazon, it’s hard not to think of Pixar’s Buy-N-Large.

Amazon is The Great New American Unprofitable Business, trading at a 300 p/e. Investors that have priced it there have anticipated that once Amazon has decimated the competition, they can raise costs on consumers. I’m not sure Jeff Bezos is the guy they think he is.

Either Amazon margins rise or it’s stock falls.

I’m fairly sure Jeff Bezos isn’t the guy the DOJ thinks he is, either.

        Probably not.

I am dismayed by their actions and prior lack of actions and I hope they get a smack down next year. Yeah, yeah I know all about how customers don’t like the higher prices but publishers should have the right to screw that up, figure it out and lower the prices on their own. and many have. Despite the right to go to the moon most popular ebooks do come down in price a lot after the first handful of months, reflecting the whole trade cloth to trade paper game. The DOJ should not be allowed to ignore Amazon’s tactics from the last 3-4 years and the suddenly give a damn cause Apple is in the game

    I don’t think that’s a good commercial.

Comparing delivering packages to landing on the moon?!!?

Comparing something else to the four minute mile?!!?

I shop the hell out of Amazon but don’t think that commercial rises above average.
