AT&T fucks users… again

AT&T won’t charge extra to use Apple’s FaceTime over cellular networks as previously reported, but there’s still a catch: Subscribers will need a new Mobile Share plan to use the video chat service on the network.

Let me fix that for you AT&T:

“Our network sucks balls. If we tried to let all of you rabid iPhone users have FaceTime, our network would take a firey crash into Hell. Many of the executives that have been too goddamn cheap to upgrade the network are now scared shitless that they will lose their cushy bonuses. So we decided to fuck our users.”

There, that’s better. At least it’s honest.

“Phone company fucks users.” In other news fire is hot, and water runs down hill.

    More at 11. :-)

As someone who’s been using FaceTime over 3G on AT&T for years, I will simply continue to Jailbreak, install My3G and use the 3G/4G data that I pay for however I please. Jerks.

That might end of being my reason to jailbreak, finally.

    Another triumph of deregulated utilities.

Any word about those of us who are still grandfathered with the “unlimited” plan- the one they REQUIRED us to get when we got our first iPhones?

You want to FaceTime over 3G, goodbye unlimited.m

Like tethering this is mainly a ploy to force folks to give up their unlimited plans. They should just give it up and cut them, they aren’t fooling folks with these games.

Otherwise, who cares what folks are doing with their data. You go over, you pay. After x gbs, no matter your plan you get speed throttled. Just be upfront about the whole thing

Unlimited is not REALLY unlimited anymore. I received a warning of being throttled at 3gb. So what used to be unlimited is now basically a 3gb plan. Run it up and see for yourself.

      • sean4123

You don’t get charged for exceeding 3GB so yes it is unlimited. When you buy an LTE device you will throttled at 5GB. Quit whining

    Damn Jim! You nailed it!

The funny part about AT&Ts stance on this is (and this is just completely my speculation) that most users will probably use FaceTime once or twice and never again. I just don’t think the vast majority of the world is ready for video calling yet.
