iPhone disruption

The iPhone is now also the primary device for listening to music as 85 percent claim and as for alarm clocks, 57 percent say they no longer use one, other than alarm clock apps on their iPhone.

I never really thought about it like that. I use my iPhone for an alarm clock, GPS, phone, and sometimes even a mini computer. Soon maybe even a wallet.

I’m in the same boat. My iPhone is my phone, sometimes my alarm clock, my camera and in some ways my wallet (starbucks app and the like).

however it is not my computer. That’s my iPad.

I just recently started using my iPhone as an alarm clock at home. It’s more reliable than the crappy digital alarm clock I bought at Lechmere in 1996.

My iPhone has become my Swiss Army knife of life. It is often my computer for email and web access, my radio for NPR in the morning, my alarm clock, my toothbrush timer, my ersatz TV (thanks to Netflix and Hulu), my map, my GPS, my airline boarding pass, and my gaming console.

It’s my alarm clock, my primary listening device (including of course podcasts such as Amplified), my GPS device, my language translator, my preferred camera, etc.

No phone I’ve ever owned replaced even a single one of these functions.

I don’t think it’s healthy having an iPhone on your bedside table as you sleep. There are legitimate health concerns. I stopped doing it.

Wow… did you also move away from any electrical wires? Do you always make sure to wear your tinfoil cap?
